Airline Interviews

Hi guys.

I have recently applied to the Aer Lingus Future Pilot Programme and will be applying to British Airways scheme when it become available in September.

I’m lucky to have friends and family in commercial aviation who have put me in contact with people who can give me guidance in how these programmes operate, however, I was wondering if anyone here had any advice when it comes to interview skills (especially in aviation).

I understand that airlines interview with the intention of hiring future captains, not lifelong FOs. I do believe I have what it takes to become a captain in the future but don’t believe it will ever be something that I’ll be fast tracked toward due to my current leadership skills (or lack therefore of).

It is a skill I’m trying to work on improving but want to know if anyone here has any pointers to how to properly convey this in an interview scenario without coming across as meek or incompetent.
