I have a confesionalidad to make. INKS.
I have been using fountain pens for ever and yes I have some premium pens and since ever Ink has been not a fashion for me, I have used Edelstein from Pelican, Diamine, some other not that known brands and have never tried Pilot Iroshizuku inks, due to their price.
I am no color junkie, very Dark blue, Dark Green, teal, and Writers blood are my complete inventory; nothing with glitter or anything like that.
So last year for a sell I managed to get two bottles of the blue I liked most in Iroshizuku Tsuki -yo. and it was until this week I loaded it in to my Pelikan M1000 broad.
OH MY GOD! ink does matter! the flow, the sensation it gives you on each stroke, it is so different, that this has been the first time ever that I have notice a difference in ink behavior.
Yes it is a premium price and I dind´t had the chance to taste it before... and the difference between the other brands I did try before was almost null, so my thinking was, why am I going to spend that much in ink.... while I do in paper.. duh.
Well the conclusion is that everybody who´s in to fountain pens have to try this ink what ever color, just try it in your favorite pen, and yes this hobby is about INK, PEN AND PAPER all together complete the full sensation.
