G1 to G3 is it worth it?
As the title suggest, is it worth the jump from the Goggles 1 to Goggle 3? I am not sure if we are talking day and night difference here as someone who has been on the G1s since its release. Coming from analogue to digital is a massive leap but what about when its between generations?
The G1 has served and continues to serve me well over the years with the Air Unit and a couple of caddx here and there. The Apex frame has been my go to and I shoot fpv mostly these days when I travel with a Hero 11 attached to it. I never saw the need to get onto the G2/O3 air units and so on.
Also looking at the way DJI has priced the goggles it seems to be a bit more practical to pick up the Avata 2 combo as a form of cost savings and sell those off while keeping the G3, although finances isn’t much of an issue for me. I am looking at it from a weight reduction and getting similar results off the O4 when compared to GoPro footage on 4:3.
I guess I can still keep and play around with my G1 and have the G3 for travel purposes as this eliminates the need for a GoPro and lugging around additional stuff. I also noticed the O4 does D-Log which is nice. Anyone in the same shoes as me and contemplating on jumping from the G1 to the G3? Also for those that have jumped from G1 to G3 what are some of the benefits as opposed to the G1?
Speaking of G3, can the batteries on it be swapped when it dies? That is one concern that I had as I hate having things with built in batteries in it although I am good at tearing things down to replace parts but just wanted to see if that’s possible.
Happy to hear your inputs and thank you in advance.
