My sampling journey and why you should sample too!
Disclaimer: This is my own personal experience and these are my own personal opinions. Not everyone likes the same fragrances and thank god that is not the case.
I have a small collection and I like to keep it that way. I only purchase fragrances I absolutely love as they are the only ones I feel suit me. So if I do not love a fragrance but merely like it, I do not add it to my collection.
Now I know some people on this sub feel it is not worth sampling clones, so let’s do some quick math.
I bought 28 samples at around €3 each which ammont to €84. But a small handful of them cost €3.50 so let’s round it up to €90 for safe measure. So it cost me this much to sample 28 fragrances.
If I were to just blind buy all of them, it would have cost me €900 - €1,200. It would have cost me this much to only love 7 out of 28 fragrances which is 25%.
25%. That is the success rate had I blind bought all these fragrances. I would have had 21 fragrances that I would not wear and would have to sell each individual one and probably for a loss too.
