is it wrong to pursue my friends BF’s roommate?

Hi. I’m 23(female) as is my friend. Recently i went to a bar with her, her bf (of 7 months) and his roommates. I found myself hitting it off with one of them (let’s call him Noah). We talked all evening and at one point she came up to me and said “omg you should go out with him this would be so fun we could all hang out”. Flash forward to the next day. I was thinking about Noah a lot, and he came up first on hinge as “most compatible” so i used this as a way to get his #. We texted for like 2 weeks til he asked me out. When he did, i told my friend. She was livid. She said would never want me going out with one of her BF roommates. “In an ideal world this would never happen”. “Now me and my boyfriend have to be involved. It’s too close” and did not talk to me for 2 days.

Noah ended up flaking on me, and I told my friend. We agreed to disagree on the situation and moved on because i thought this was a very normal way to meet someone and i thought shed be excited for me.

Flash forward 1.5 weeks. I get a text from Noah saying “can i tell you something? It needs to stay between us”. He tells me that my friends BF urged him not to go on a date with me. Noah felt frustrated and really bad, and wanted to reach out and let me know that flaking is very unlike him. This made me upset because my friend assured me she did not have anything to do with Noah flaking, and said she saw him playing video games all day of the day of our date.

So, i decided to be sneaky and now im about to go on a second date with Noah. I felt slighted by my friend and her bf. She’s like my best friend, so i was shocked. I like this kid, and i am excited to keep seeing him. But- I HAVE NOT told my friend. I plan on waiting til i feel like i like Noah enough and could see it progressing. I don’t want to get into a tussle over someone who wastes my time anyway.

While i do love my friend, she has seen me go through a lot of dating fails. Finally, i take interest in someone and she thinks she can gatekeeper it… we are 23 and i think i can go out with someone i like..
