GT86 vs Miata ND (RF)
I'm torn between two cars: the Toyota GT86 and the Mazda Miata ND (either the soft top or the RF). I've watched countless comparison videos, but I still can't make a decision. Here's my situation:
The GT86 is more practical, with more interior space and storage, and it feels more like a traditional sports car. On the other hand, the Miata has the appeal of being a convertible, which isn't a necessity for me, but it's definitely a nice bonus.
I'm 23 years old, a student, and 6'1" (185 cm). I'll probably keep the car until I can afford something like a BMW 440i in the future. So, keeping ownership costs (maintenance, insurance, parts, etc.) as low as possible is really important to me—otherwise, I'd just go straight for the 440i.
Interestingly, here in Germany, the GT86 costs about the same as the Miata soft top, and the RF isn’t much more expensive. I like that the GT86 feels more like a traditional car—it’s roomier and seems more customizable. That said, the Miata has its charm, even though it's smaller and less practical.
I'll be test-driving both cars soon, but I doubt that will completely settle my indecision. I'd love it if you could give me some reasons to lean toward the GT86 over the Miata, and maybe highlight the pros and cons of each.
