what does elon gain by being (associated with) a nazi

i need to preface this by saying i am in no way in agreement with anything elon does. the salute he did is a nazi salute, he’s done related shit in the past, and he has not come out saying it wasn’t a nazi salute. and i didn’t need any of that info to know hes a horrible person.

but i watched this video and he raises a good point in that what would elon gain out of nazism/building a nazi fanbase.

genuinely curious what people think because i highly doubt he would do anything that doesn’t benefit him. but i don’t see what he gains from it
