Anyone else told sludge is "no big deal"?
I had an ultrasound for ongoing abdominal discomfort and GI issues and it should gallbladder sludge. My gastroenterology NP shrugged it off as contributory and said "it's no big deal. I have it too." I'm curious to hear people's experiences: is it true sludge doesn't cause any symptoms or should I take her word with a grain of salt?
EDIT: thank you everyone for your responses! I am glad to hear I’m not alone or crazy and I’m also so sorry that so many of us have had to deal with this. I appreciate hearing everyone’s experiences and I hope everyone can keep pushing for the care and treatment we need and deserve!
For people with pain is it always a sharp stabbing pain or was it ever dull? I’ve never had a classic gallbladder attack based on the description of symptoms that it sounds like someone is ripping out your organ, but I have a tendered in the upper right quadrant that sometimes extends my back and along my rib. It’s more often just uncomfortable than painful, kind of like there is a bubble or some sort of pressure under my ribs. I am getting worked up for other and have liver labs done tomorrow, but I was just wondering if that resonates with anyone?
