What would have changed if a Kingsguard with with Viserys & Daenerys?
Everyone aside from Queen Rhaella and Prince Viserys had a Kingsguard with them during the end of the Rebellion. Prince Rhaegar had Ser Jonothor, Ser Barristan, and Prince Lewyn with him at the Trident, Lyanna had Ser Arthur and Ser Gerold, and King Aerys had Ser Jaime. We have no idea what Ser Oswell was doing. All we know is that he died in the Red Mountains of Dorne after refusing to bend the knee.
But, Rhaella and Viserys did not have one. I can't help but wonder what would have changed if they did have a Kingsguard with them. Let's say, Ser Oswell takes Gerold's place at the ToJ. Gerold was never sent to get Rhaegar and stays at the Red Keep. When Rhaegar dies at the Trident he was sent with Rhaella and Viserys to Dragonstone while Jaime stays with Aerys.
When Rhaella dies from childbirth and Ser Willem Darry flees to the Free Cities with the Targaryen children, Gerold Hightower is with them.
What changes with the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard being with Viserys and Daenerys in Essos?
