Postgraduate student looking to make new friends

I'm a 32 year-old female student (international) currently doing my PhD at UofG.

I currently find myself in a rather unfortunate position. I am going through a break-up and having to move out of my current flat. To make matters worse, a lot of my close friends at the moment are either leaving very soon as their degrees are coming to an end, or became mutual friends with my now ex, which is creating lots of tension, uncertainty, and pain at the moment. I feel like I have to start my life all over and not sure where to start. Next year will be my last of the PhD and it's just the worst time to be starting over, but that's how I feel.

A lot of the uni societies are great fun but only for young students in their early 20s. It has been difficult to meet people through them, as a result. A lot less is available to PhD students.

I am wondering if there are others who feel similarly/have a similar trajectory who have been battling similar concerns and worries/feelings, and are looking to meet new people.

For context, my PhD is in medical sciences.
