PSA: Don't pay crazy Reverb prices when the builder's website is literally cheaper

Every one of these listings says something like "never played, only opened to photograph" and every single one is more expensive than just buying it from the Chase Bliss website once you factor in sales tax.

Similarly, I bought another pedal recently from a builder in a different country that was about $10 cheaper than the listings on Reverb in the US. Just be sure to check prices on the manufacturer's website and see what they charge in terms of shipping and sales tax before giving in to Reverb sellers.

A lot of these companies do 15% off sales a couple times a year or more, so if you have any patience, you should really hold out for at least that much of a discount when buying used. You typically get a warranty, return policy, etc. when buying direct that you won't get from a Reverb flipper. Support the people who build the pedals you like, not the flippers.

And it's beside the point, but in the case of this screenshot, these all probably came from mystery boxes, so $340 should be about what it takes to break even after shipping cost and Reverb fees. So at these prices, you can either pay for these resellers to make a 15% profit on their mystery box investment or save a few bucks and support the company that went through the effort of setting up the mystery box promotion and sold 10,000 of their pedals at a 25% or higher discount, plus bought 500 other pedals to give away alongside them.
