Dean Vendetta 3.0 humbucker upgrade recommendations?

Hey everyone,

I have a Dean Vendetta 3.0 that has the stock pickups and would like to upgrade if possible, I play metal mostly and have been downtuning a lot recently.

It looks like there is enough space for a 9v battery if actives are recommended. It may be a budget guitar, but I love the thing!
