Mannlicher Schönauer Mod MC

This Rifle was passed down to me recently through my family, after some google searching I didn’t find a whole lot of info to this particular model. Just curious to the history so I can figure how it got into my great grandfathers hands. No one in my family has given me a consistent answer. TIA
