"Epic" multi-book series with action

I am looking for books with some kind of "epicness" or just a big overarching plot that spans across multiple books. Something you would find in traditional fantasy. Maybe it's exactly the opposite of Slice-of-Life? A few examples: TTTT, Heretic Spellblade, Palading of the Sigil and (maybe) Herald of Shalia. Basically books that have a clear plotline starting from book 1 + relatively high stakes. Also if possible on the darker or more serious side, less comedy-like. Also not ftb.
