CMU HCII IELTS requirement is too high? Should I apply with my current scores?

TL;DR: IELTS score is sufficient overall but 0.5 less in speaking, should I go ahead and apply with this or retake test, maybe Duolingo?

Hi everyone, I'm hoping to apply to CMU's M.HCI program for this Fall'24 intake. However, I'm now looking at the English Proficiency Requirements and since I took the IELTS, the relevant criteria is an overall score of 8.5/9.0 with no sub-section lower than 8.0. Anyone who has taken the IELTS and is applying to HCI programs (even competitive ones) can probably attest to this being a high threshold for proficiency. I have an overall score of 8.5 but a speaking score of 7.5, just short of 8.0. What do you guys think I should do? I don't want to retake a proficiency test for just 0.5, and I don't think there's enough time either (Jan 19th deadline). Please advise, really freaking out as CMU HCI was my ideal program. Alternatively, what's the risk of applying with my current scores?
