What is the deal with the Eames Lounger? Is it worth $6k? Anyone have one and like/dislike it?

I know it’s a classic design but I was floored by the price. I mean the Aeron arguably pats for itself in ergonomics. What is the allure of the Eames tho? Is it a status symbol?
