Recent trends that worry me
There is something that worries me. These days I am seeing Content creators/Influencers/Godmen/Pravachankartas, propagating, for a lack of a better word, a type of thinking about Hinduism which makes it seems to be very rigid and fixed. Everything is rooted back to the scriptures. I am not denying the prāmanika of the scriptures but I am speaking culturally there is a movement underway to "homogenize" Hinduism. Anyone who tries to make a point regarding a custom or a general fact about Hinduism, is shut down saying that the scriptures don't say that. That's it. There is no more discussion. I believe Hinduism has been a religion which has prioritised dialogue over anything. And that, I feel, as been lost.
Infact, one of the most powerful tenets to be followed by any hindu i.e ego sacrifice, is basically banished when people claim "their" thinking of it is correct. What do y'all think?
