Best $300 glove coming from an SLR2 Pro

My team is doing a $300 gear order and I'm thinking of getting a new catch glove. We place the order through pure hockey so I can't go used or anything. I'm thinking of either the True hzrdus 7x4 or catalyst 7x3. The catalyst is on sale for under $200 so it has the added benefit of i could grab something else for the other 100 like new knee pads or something. How do these gloves compare to the Vaughn SLR2 Pro and each other? I like the Vaughn but I got it used so it's kind of stiff and hard to keep open, and I end up palming pucks, closing early, and dropping them. I know the 7 line is the more midrange option, is the step down from pro line made up for by being newer? Is my problem with my glove just a skill issue? Is there a different glove line i should be looking at or other gear this money would be better spent on?

Added context i play ACHA D3 with some decent players so no one that's going to the show but some high level junior guys with pretty good shots
