Alternia in Crisis - A Homestuck HOI4 Mod Beta 1.1 Release
I'm honestly not even sure where to begin with this because seeing the phrase "Homestuck" and "Hearts of Iron" in the same sentence is probably very strange, but I'll try and explain the project as best as possible plus what our team's planned content is.
Alternia in Crisis is a total conversion mod for HOI4. You can play as a country, most led by trolls, a few by humans, in an alternate universe where the Alternian Empire collapsed around the time the trolls were 13 and Sburb/Sgrub never existed.
Mama mia! That's a lot of trolls!
The AU is kinda hard to explain in text because it's meant to be an interactive game, but essentially Alternia collapses, Karkat becomes a rebel leader, Vriska's a pirate, and all that other stuff you expect of Homestuck's cast, plus the Hiveswap cast to boot. Some humans come through, like John, Rose, Jade, and Dave, and are also doing their thing trying to adjust to life on a collapsed Alternia.
They all want to kill each other, naturally.
Right now, the game has three countries with content: The Alternian Empire, led by the Condesce, the Organized Resistance Front, led by Karkat Vantas, and the Pirates of the Cerulean Coast, led by Vriska. We also have content planned for the Alternian Worker's Labor State that has four trolls from Hiveswap fighting for control (You can see one of them on that select screen above), alongside Feferi and Eridan's divided islands, plus John's attempts to create a new America on Alternia.
There's a ton of events, almost 40 now, I think, and still counting, fleshing out the lore of the world and the various trolls both familiar and new that inhabit it. I'm not sure if it's an AU for everyone, since it's fairly serious and also... political... but I've tried to keep real world politics out of it as much as can be expected from a game that's base is about WW2.
Krakkrab is not the most successful leader in the world...
Like I said, there's probably about 40 of these, and we only have three countries down. It's long, and it's going to get longer.
Anyway, to wrap this thing up, if you're interested in the project, it's available right now to be played on the Steam Workshop. I honestly have no idea how large the intersection is between Homestuck fans and HOI4 fans, but me and my assistants thought it would be worth a shot throwing it out here.
