Tips for newly homeless in Houston?

Not much to it, I’ve hit just hit a rough patch and will be homeless on the 1st. Not looking for hand outs but more like tips for surviving on the Houston streets. I’ve already looked up general shelter, food, and non-profit resources and have started paperwork where I can, but if there’s some hidden gems out there I’d be grateful to know. Also ready to work to get out is this position.

About me

-Abled bodied and happy to work. I am a citizen with all documents needed to work. I have service and white collar experience but open to anything that helps.

-I have an active cell phone line for at least a couple more weeks and a working laptop.

-No car, but have a valid driver’s license.

-I still have a tiny bit of money and a few things I could sell off so I don’t have to panhandle or anything like that immediately.

Like I said, I’d be grateful for any pointers, tips, and methods to just pick myself up. Thank you to anyone who knows a thing or two.

EDIT: Just want thank everyone again. I was feeling kind of hopeless this morning when I made this post, but all these resources and words of advice helped me see that it’s not the end of the world.
