Why I am not a fan of this fandom’s OCs

[PLEASE READ] Please note that if you are just going to comment “you are a hater”, “let people do what they want” or “just ignore it if you dont like it”, I’d advised you to take a step back and really reconsider the logic of your comment. This is NOT A PERSONAL ATTACK to any OC creators. I am simply here to state why I am not a fan of this fandom’s OCs as a whole. This is just PURE OPINION, so please be mature in the comment section.

I have seen many OCs. Some are great and out of the blue. However for every of such OC I see, I see 1000 Night/Light Fury/ Night Light OCs. My issue with such OCs aren’t because they are Furies, your favourite dragon in httyd can be any of those 3 for all I care. However my issue is how outright lazy most of them are.

So many people have Furies OCs just because they want to have a “cool dragon” like Toothless. So what do they do? Take a Night Fury or whatever, recolour it, give it name like xxmooncrystalwalkerxx, give it a sadistic depressing backstory. Now at this point if you are just going to comment “well ignore if you dont like it”, I can’t. They are literally everywhere. Seriously.

These crappy OCs are everywhere (and yes, I do feel they are crappy in terms of design and for the pure reason they stemmed from their creators only wanting to justify their place in this fandom by making their OC a Night Fury which immediately makes them “cool” and “respectable” because Toothless was a Night Fury. Again I repeat, I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST PEOPLE WHO GENUINELY LIKES THE FURY SPECIES/SUB SPECIES.

So that’s pretty much it for why I’m not a fan of this httyd’s OCs, despite the few diamonds in the dirt out there.
