New Onset 5/14/23 after Noise Exposure

I am grateful that this community exists.

I am a 37yo physician in Florida and developed hyperacusis immediately following a loud noise exposure (blendtec blender malfunction) on 5/14/2023.

The experience has been quite frightening for me and my family (wife and 2 daughters under 4).

I have consulted with an ENT specializing in otology at Mayo Clinic and she has ordered a hearing test.

Severity of symptoms:
-low (motors, engines, bass) and high frequency sounds (baby crying) are difficult to tolerate
-I am able tolerate conversation okay with most people
-I can tolerate most sounds in the house without protective equipment except cooking or doing dishes
-only get tinnitis (sound of crickets) with certain noises (white noise)

Questions:
1. Could a hearing test worsen my H?
2. Is pink noise bad for H at this point in my recovery?
3. Should I be avoiding any digital audio (TV, radio, computer audio, etc)
4. Is there any value in starting early on sound retraining therapy and CBT (either through local audiologist or Treble Health)

Thank you all for your support in this journey.
