16 Week Update

I had a hard recovery after all of my friends that had a hysterectomy told me it was a piece of cake. The first 6 weeks were extremely painful and I had 1 trip to the ER two weeks post op due to pain and nausea. Along with the hysterectomy I had a labial ablation due to the skin fusing together which caused extreme pain during and after sex for about 3 days each time. It got to where just wiping after urinating would cause it to tear, bleed, and burn. I didn't realize how much the skin had fused until after the ablation. I am 50 and was put on the pill the last 16 years due to extreme pain before my periods and painful sex, both which left me doubled over in pain and crying. Two gynos said they were 99% sure that I had endometriosis due to my symptoms. Well, I did not have endo but had a crapload of small fibroids which is more than likely causing all of my pain. I started to think that maybe I shouldn't have had the surgery due to how painful my recovery was. And, I still have painful urination up where my bladder is because they couldn't get an adult size catheter in so they had to use a child size. Before surgery, our sex life became almost nonexistent due to how much pain it caused me, and it was putting g a strain on our relationship even though my husband is very understanding. We waited to have sex until this weekend because I was scared of having pain. Well, we did for the first time and I had absolutely no pain for the first time in 5 years. I am so happy! So, I guess the hysterectomy was definitely worth it.
