Planning question

We did a learn to ski weekend for our family of 4 as a gift this year for the holidays. Went with another 1st time family and split private group lessons. Had a great time and everyone was hooked. Live close to Spring Mountain,PA so went there last Sunday to practice and build some confidence with getting on and off the lift. Not sure if we will make it back to the Poconos this winter and unfortunately didn’t budget for anything farther north this year. Looking to next year though and to take advantage of some of the early bird pass pricing. What are some good beginner friendly mountains within 3-4hrs of Philly area besides the Poconos? Where the beginner and intermediate trails are close enough together that if the older kids (9 and 10) wanted to try something the 7 yr olds didn’t we’d be able to see them on the lift or see them going down and use a walkie talkie or something to check in?

Also, the oldest will be a 4th grader next year and I heard someone at Spring mention they do a 4th grader pass and they said it’s pretty common at other mountains to offer 4th graders passes or a cheaper lift ticket. Is that a true? Do you register in advance?
