Looking to move to USA from Canada

Hello, my wife (American) and I (Canadian) are looking to move to America, with eventually me becoming a resident/citizen.

I’ve been reading that it can take two-four years to get a visa? I’m very new to this. I am a welder with many qualifications and wondering with being married to an American for 2 plus years and in the trades, what is the best route to get moved to the USA?
