Sneaking OUT of the country?

How possible is it to sneak OUT of the country right now? Such as returning to Mexico to avoid deportation. What would the process be like once arriving at the border? Would it be US officials to check documentation or Mexican officials? What would be the best mode of transportation for someone looking to leave the country without getting caught?
