Retired military 41 years old, no investments, just finished MBA and landed high salary job. Want to live next chapter of life doing it the right way.
Hi All:
I am looking for guidance on this subject. Title says it all. Please do not beat me up on current financial situation, I've done that enough to myself. I am just looking for guidance. To summarize, took me a long time to mature financially. I was making good money, but had a poor mindset, if that makes sense. I finally took the last 2 years to get my house in order and things are much clearer now.
Landed a gig making around 155k with yearly bonus of 15k. I also receive 5k a month for retirement. I am married with 4 kids. Wife is SAHM, will change soon when 2 year old gets to pre-school. I have an teenage daughter who is 15 that I pay support as well. A mortgage, car note, etc.
After all bills are paid, I net 4k a month at new gig. This does not include quarterly bonus ~3500-4000.
All that said, I am looking to build my portfolio and invest correctly. New company has a 25% contribution for our 401k plan.
Again, not looking to get beat up. This sub has really helped me get my house in order and I am looking forward to hearing input on this next chapter.
Thanks in advance!
