PSA! Maybe others know this but.. Because of building work and our heating being disrupted for a few weeks we were looking at a way of getting clothes dry in this damp weather without dryer running constantly..
A few weeks ago, went and spent €250 on a dehumidifier/air purifier and it's brilliant. Last night in sub zero temps outside we had no heating on and the house was still cozy as the air felt warmer. The clothes are drying in record time and it seems to be relatively cheap to run, it's estimated at 4 cent an hour and we are saving on gas bills right now. I know it's an extra cost but running it a few hours to dry the clothes, I foresee heating on way less in the future.
