How the heck do the 7-Eleven figurine lotteries work?

So just recently, an Evangelion promotion was happening at my local store, and I went ahead and purchased some tickets & won a couple mini-prizes, nothing special.

When I came back today, everything was gone & replaced with Valentines Day stuff. I tried asking the dude at the counter how what happened to the rest of the prizes and how the system worked, and through translation apps I could only gather from him that when the promotion period ends a bunch of people will come last minute after this website notifies them: https://1kuji.com/products/eva_f16

Another lady then came up to me and explained in choppy English that figurines associated with these promotions will usually go on direct sale a day or two after the promotion period ends. Right now the current Evangelion promotion is expecting a release either Friday or Saturday depending on the store.

Is this all more or less accurate or am I missing something else?
