Fighting a plateau
After running Maximorum this summer with 24s, I kept on doing Clean-Press-Squat two days a week with 28s adding reps as I could until I got to sets of 7 in mid November. Then I tried to up it to 32s - but after 3 weeks, I was still maxing out at 2 reps with the press even though I could easily clean for 5 and squat for 5. I think it might ne that I was only able to hit sets of 7 with the 28s by taking longer rests. So I’ve backed up and started doing 1 day a week going for 10 to 12 with the 24s and one day alternating between sets of 3-5, to try to keep rest times shorter by having an “easy set”. I’ll slowly raise the reps to 4-6, 5-7, etc, until I get to 10, and I’m hoping at that point I’ll be able to jump to the 32s and use them effectively. I’ve totally fallen in love with the C & P and the DFSQ, but itching to start focusing on other things.
