Kia denying repairs under warranty to A/C

We have a 2023 telluride with about 18k miles. The other day my wife was sitting in the parking lot when she smelled smoke and started hearing a hissing noise. She brought the car home and it seemed like the AC stopped working so we called to setup an appt with the dealership. I looked in the hood and noticed the coolant was low and took note. The next morning I looked and there was no coolant in the vehicle so we had it towed to the dealer since it was 30 min away, I didn't want her to try and refill and drive it.

Today they sent us a text saying it isn't covered under warranty because a rock hit the ac condenser and caused the damage, want us to pay $2k in repairs. Does that sound plausible? Advice?
