Venting about parents sending sick kids to school

I KNOW (trust me) that it can feel impossible to keep your kid home when both parents work...
but omg it's driving me bonkers how parents keep sending sick kids to school. One even bragged to me today that his daughter (in my kid's class) was up coughing all night, but she had no fever in the morning and they managed to drop her off without incident.

My kid is the kid that seems to have a less strong immune system than others... and when others give her the cold that made them sick for two days, she is SICK for two weeks! And she is so miserable when she is sick, we absolutely can't send her to school, even though it's had massive ramifications for my career.

So when she gets sick, she misses a LOT of school. And it seems like every time we finally get to send her back to school, there are actively sick kids sneezing and coughing in her face and she quickly ends up with another illness.

I GET that it's so hard to keep your kid home. TRUST ME. The impact on my life has been extreme. BUT ALL THE KIDS WOULD GET SICK LESS OVERALL if everyone kept their kid home while they are sick. If everyone would just do this, WE WOULD ALL MISS FEWER DAYS OF SCHOOL! But since a bunch of people send their sick kids anyway, other people feel like they might as well too. It only works if everyone does it.

I definitely don't miss masking kids, or prolonged school closures every time someone tested positive, but I really do miss how strict people were during the pandemic about keeping actively sick kids home.

I am going out of my mind!!

ETA: I know I'm going to get massively downvoted for this, because the majority is clearly in camp "send kids to school as long as they can stand up without falling over." Posting anyway! I at least want people to see the pain they cause others (and themselves in the long run), even though I know no one is going to change :(
