People who have watched Enthiran and 24 – share your honest opinions!

I recently revisited my thoughts on *Enthiran* and *24*. I watched both movies in theatres when they were released and, to be honest, I found them disappointing.

Enthiran

I’ve noticed a lot of praise for this movie in recent times, especially for its VFX. But honestly, I felt the VFX was subpar back then and hasn’t aged well now. The climax, the train fight, fire accident, and that megazord formation – felt boring and awkward, both logically and technically.

Did the screenplay save it? Not really. The movie had a good plot, but as a whole, it didn’t work for me.

That said, there were a few high points:

- The logical dilemma of saving a girl vs. saving her with dignity

- Chitti’s intro in the auditorium.

- Bora saying, *"Ini dan kathaiye aarambam."*

- Chitti’s menacing re-entry after the red chip installation.

- "Cash or card? Gun!"

24

Marketed as a time travel movie, but honestly, the “time travel” aspect was barely there. The only notable instance of it impacting the story was in the climax. Compared to this, *Indru Netru Naalai* was 100x better as a true time travel movie.

Then there’s Athreya. He was hyped as one of the greatest villains, alongside icons like Vinayak from *Mankatha* and Raghuvaran from *Baasha*. But what exactly did he do to earn that status? No mastermind moves, just brutal killings.

And the invention of the time machine? A bird’s feather conveniently falls on the formula and voilà – time machine ready. Seriously?

My Take

I get it – opinions differ. I might find these movies mediocre, while someone else may consider them masterpieces. But the level of appreciation these movies get in this sub makes me wonder – did I watch a completely different movie?
