Trigger Warning: Actual Stephen Johnson Syndrome Rash Photos

Hi All! I see a lot of posts on here of people worried about developing Stephen Johnson syndrome from taking lamitcal, and posting their rashes and asking “is this it!? Is it happening!?”

I did have Stephen Johnson over two years ago in 2022 from taking lamitcal and I almost died. I did survive (obviously) and all is well now.

As a sort of PSA, or to ease some of your minds, because it is terrifying, I thought I would share some photos of what the rash actually looks like when I did have it.

It’s quite severe, especially the photo on my face, so beware. The photos are in order from when it started to when it got to be most severe.

I hope this helps ease some of your concerns, and helps some of you to know when to go to the ER for your symptoms. Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll try to answer. I am obviously not taking this medication anymore, but I still check this page every so often.
