drop vs broadcast spreader

Tapping the collective wisdom of Reddit: what is better for a medium-sized lawn that is not very flat: a drop spreader or a broadcast spreader?

From reading reviews, the drop spreader can create 'stripes' on the lawn, but it is more precise and economical. The Scott's broadcast spreader I currently use is difficult to control going up and down the land.
