Tips on building the tapered cylindrical shape of squidward's house?

I want to build a moc of squidward's house, split into 3 floors that can be stacked/removed for play, but I'm having trouble thinking how I can build the shape of the house in a smooth-looking way, while also having different colours on the exterior and interior, without making the walls too thick. I would greatly appreciate any buliding technique suggestions
