skin biopsy questions

I have a dermatologist appointment coming up to try to determine whether my malar rash is rosacea, lupus, or both. (I have a SLE dx and am on methotrexate and Benlysta.) IDK how it's going to go - if they don't suggest a biopsy, should I advocate for one? And what is a punch biopsy like? How much does it hurt, how long does it take to heal, does it leave a scar, all that stuff...
