M1 Pro vs M1 Max

Which one to choose? I'm a web and mobile developer.

1. MacBook Pro M1 Pro, 16GB RAM, 98% maximum battery capacity, 69 cycles. Very little use, the owner wants to return to Windows. 1.5 years since purchase. $ 1,312.

2. MacBook Pro M1 Max, 32GB RAM, 88% maximum battery capacity, 46 cycles, 2 years and 4 months of use. The owner is a developer and has just bought the M4 MacBook. $ 1,470.

3. Any other combination/recommendation?
