New to Manga

Hi - I am a voracious reader that's looking to diversify what I read a bit. I'm interested in starting a couple of manga series. My son (9) is really into One Piece and Naruto but it's my understanding that they are geared more towards kids. Can someone recommend some good titles or series for someone new to the genre? I'm open to pretty much anything. Thanks!
