MSC 3rd mate avg salary 156k?

I’m a little lost what salary to expect as a fresh 3rd mate out of school. Google results range from 60k to 90k. Reddit posts as of this year seem to indicate low six figures. Then I came across a MSC post offering “avg annual salary” of 156k for 3rd mate.

Is that for a 3rd mate with a lot of experience?

What should I actually expect out of the academy?

Also, how stable are the wages? If they’re contingent on the health of the industry how much should I expect them to waver?
