2019 Mazda CX5 Cracked Cylinder Head

Echoing what so many others experienced with a cracked cylinder head, leaking oil, inside cabin smell, high repair costs, etc....What I'm wondering if this is linked to the recent Mazda SSP letter extending the warranty coverage for repair of the fail-safe thermostat installed inside of the suspected coolant control valve. Research shows high temperatures will lead to crack cylinder heads. With respect to the fail safe thermometer, if it is not working properly it could lead to the coolant control valve to remain open and lead to the engine overheating. The correlation between the two is uncanny, albeit a stretch, something worth looking into. Anyone have any additional information or thoughts...This seems to be a known problem with Mazda.
