My first labeled bottle of mead in the books

Dragon Spit (Lemonade Mead) Name from my first DnD campaign on a menu my DM made himself. Felt the name properly reflects a bitter/sour drink.

I did this by weight instead of volume but it’s for a 1 gallon fermenter.

7lb9oz of Lemonade, I prefer Costco (1.050 SG) 2lb2oz of wildflower honey, Costco again here

Starting Gravity: 1.120

4g of Lalvin 71-B 4.4g of Fermaid-O, Added 1.1g Day 1, 2, and 3 then 1.1g a week after

1.060 FG 6 weeks and 6 days later after 1 week of no gravity change

Racked and diluted with 250ml of spring water to see if it might go a little further.

New Gravity 1.054

Stabilized 10 weeks and 1 day later

Bottled after 14 weeks and 1 day.

Notes: While the gravity ended high, the sweetness pairs nicely with the sour. I don’t know why but Costco lemonade even when it was 1.120 gravity still had great sour taste coming through that I love in a lemonade. The ABV is around 7.56% if I calculated correctly which would be my first hydromel and I think it turned out great.
