What do you want to say 'No' to?
Have you ever felt like the people around you just don't quite get it? Like the comfort you’re seeking is out of reach, no matter how much you try to explain?
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on all the things I want to say “no” to—things that feel like they only add to the weight I’m already carrying. Here are a few:
- Saying “I’m fine” when I’m not, just because it feels easier than explaining.
- Being told to “stay positive” when what I really need is space to feel what I’m feeling.
- The expectation to always be available, cheerful, or “on” when my energy is at an all-time low.
- The belief that healing has to look perfect, quick, or linear.
I think a lot of us just want to feel seen and understood for where we are right now, without being rushed to fix, perform, or explain ourselves. I know I do.
What about you? If you could say “no” to something in your life right now, what would it be? Maybe it’s a behavior, a phrase, or even a societal expectation that doesn’t sit right with you.
