Metro awakening - Arachnophobia

Hi, i recently bought the game and the first thing you get when you start is is the arachnophobia warning.
I wouldn't say i really have an arachnophobie but i make a large bow arround spiders even when i like to watch them in the zoo as long as there is a window between us.
So i did not turn on this mode to get full immersion of the game.
After a while i stumbled over the first spider web and grabbed my lighter.
Everyone knows what comes next i think.
After i calmed down and put my quest back on i turned on the arachophobia mode.

The game is fun and i enjoy it. But do i miss much of the game with this mode turned on?
Because as far as i can see it completely removes spiders from the game and not just make them harmless models like other games do.
