Preservatives

Hey yall!

Since it's been almost a year, I thought I would share a migraine trigger that took me 26 years to figure out 😫

Preservatives.

Everyone always talks about the foods- chocolate, wine, cheese. I tried to cut out everything except cheese and NOTHING helped until I started paying attention to the ingredients.

So far I've found the following to be huge triggers but I'm sure there's probably others. I just don't eat pre-made food anymore 🥺

• Sodium Benzoate
• Potassium Sorbate
• Sodium phosphate
• Calcium propionate

I have "complex" migraines aka hemiplegic- I was having them so often I would lose the ability to use my left leg and/or hand for days and have to crawl around my house. I haven't had a hemi migraine in almost a year- now I only get them from my other triggers (stress, heat, literally everything else) every few months.

BTW- it took 3 months for my multiple times a week migraines to go away after I stopped eating my triggers.

Thankfully- I discovered I love to cook and bake so it's been an easy transition 😊 but check your labels y'all!
