Would you consider yourself a white Latina if...
I know there are plenty of anglo-white/brown Latino people who post here so maybe you can relate.
I was called a "white Latina" by my SO and felt completely icky about it. I feel a white Latino is someone who is predominantly or fully white and has been handed privileges and experiences of being white in Latin America. I do not have that experience nor has my brown Latino parent experienced it. I do not identify with being a Latina and have always felt icky about using it to describe myself.
As for being white, I would be called a "blancita" in LATAM solely for my white skin. However I am ambiguous with my features.
I am very involved with the community and culture as a "blancita" but still do not identify with either "white" or "Latina". I feel like a fraud most of the time because alot of people see me as that.
If you are the same mix, how do you call yourself?
Edit: My mother is Anglo-white of European descent and my Father is an indigenous Latino who most likely has African ancestry as well. I have mixed ambiguous facial features and really curly hair. I get mistaken sometimes for being biracial black/white.
