Is Log too dead for Inoculation?

Cut this log from my backyard Oak Tree ~5 to 7 weeks ago.

Wanted to get an opinion on whether it’s too late to try and log inoculate with Golden Oysters on this piece. Living in North Texas and the weather has been regularly 100+ degrees since mid-June. Any all and advice is helpful. Thanks, cheers!
