Hard drives for deployment

I am trying to get my daughter an external hard drive for her birthday. I see that 2TBs are sufficient enough for a deployment, but does anyone recommend any brands? Specific get-this-one suggestions would be really appreciated. I am a little overwhelmed and want it to be useful.

Also anything else you can wished you had and didn’t for living on the ship? TIA
