butt cream

is it necessary? i’ve heard moms use diaper rash cream every diaper change. why? my LO is 6/7 weeks i’ve never used it because he doesn’t have diaper rash.

i was shamed by my MIL for not using it when i change his diaper (which made me fucking mad lol)

i just don’t understand using something when he shows no indication of diaper rash. am i the only one? or is there another reason one would use diaper rash cream on every diaper change!?!? seems excessive to me
