Shorter post this week as the deals are few and far between. Check any coupons that you may have handy because they might expire soon. I have a stack of Kellogg’s Elf on the Shelf cereal coupons that I’m holding on to and hoping that they go on clearance during Boxing Week.

Next week, I’m taking a week off making this list, but I hope to be back in the New Year with new deals and coupon match ups. Buy 1, get 2 free bags of chips! There is a new printable coupon available from TastyRewards.com for buy 1, get 2 free bags of Lays, Tostitos, Cheetos, Miss Vickies, Doritos or Smartfood. This coupon is a little finicky, it takes quite a while for the pdf to pop up, so be patient after you click the print button. Also, this is a great deal, but it is only valid on the largest sizes of chips. The kind that you don’t see go on sale (bigger than the family size bags). As an example, Lays 415g bags are 5$ at Freshco this week. They will work out to 1.66$ each with this coupon when you buy 3. If you have any of the 50¢ cashback rebates from Websaver/TastyRewards, don’t forget to upload your receipt for extra savings.

Savings on International Delight: Starting Saturday, Shopper’s Drugmart has International Delight Coffee Creamer (473ml) for 2.49$ and as of Thursday Farm Boy had it for 2.99$. There is a 1$ cashback rebate from CheckOut51 for the 473ml bottles making them 1.49$ and 1.99$ respectively. The larger size of 946ml bottles are on sale at Real Canadian Superstore for 3.79$ and Freshco for 3.99$. CheckOut51 has a 1.25$ cashback rebate making them 2.54$ and 2.74$ respectively. Claim each offer up to 5 times.

1.44$ Pancake Mix and Syrup: Foodland has Pearl Milling Co Pancake Mix and Syrup on sale for 3.69$ this week. Buy 4 and get 500 Scene+ points (5$ value). There are 1$ off tear pad coupons available in stores. Combine the points and coupons to make each unit 1.44$.

1.52$-2.38$ Blueberries: Walmart has ½ pint blueberries on sale for 1.77$. There is a 25¢ cashback rebate from Eclipsa to pair with this price. An even better deal is at Loblaws, Independent, and Zehrs, where they have full pints on sale 6$/2 with a bonus of 1000 PC Optimum points (1$ value). Combine the points and cashback to make them 2.38$ each.

2.99$ Bread: Normally I wouldn’t say that getting bread for 2.99$ a loaf is a great deal, but Oroweat bread is usually over 5$ a loaf. Sobey’s has Oroweat bread on sale for 4.99$ when you buy 2. There is a 2$ cashback rebate from CheckOut51. Claim up to 5 times.

2.66$-2.99$ Beyond Meat: This week Freshco and Chalo have Beyond Meat Burgers and Breakfast Sausages on sale for 4.99$. There is a 2$ printable coupon to pair with this price. Sobey’s also has a buy 2 Beyond Meat plant-based products and get 1 free. You can combine this deal with the coupons as well. I believe there is a limit of 2 coupons per transaction, so this is works out well. The plant based ‘ground beef’ is 5.99$/340g. Buy 3, use 2 coupons and get the third package free and they work out to 2.66$ each. I tried the ‘ground beef’ last week in a taco recipe and it was really nice. Not the same as actual ground beef, but I wasn’t at all disappointed by the taste or texture.

3$ Ben & Jerry’s: No Frills has Ben & Jerry’s ice cream 10$/2 and there is a PC Optimum points offer for every 10$ spent on Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Walls, Popsicle, Klondike, and Magnum l, get 4000 PC Optimum points (4$ value).

3.49$ Brie: If you’re looking to put together a chacuterie board for the holidays, No Frills has Notre Dame Brie on sale for 5.49$. There is a 2$ cashback rebate from CheckOut51.

Price match tips:

• Most stores won't price match Rexall or Shoppers Drugmart.

• Loblaws owned stores limit price matching to 4 items per UPC. Different flavours will have different UPCs. Some cashiers don't know their policy and will try to limit purchases to 4 items only.

• Showing a virtual flyer like the Flipp app links included in this post is sufficient for price matching. You don't need to find a physical flyer. 

• Download the Flipp app and long press the price matches to "clip" them. You can find these clippings in the Lists section for easy reference at checkout.

• Not all stores will price match every store. Each store will determine their own local competition. They should have this info posted somewhere or ask at the cash and they can tell you.

Frugal Tip of the Week:

Boxing Day is a good day to look for deals on groceries. There will be lots of fresh meat, dairy and produce discounted due to the Christmas Day holiday store closure. You can also find deep discounts on holiday themed items, like snacks, cookies, and cereals. I’m hoping that I can get some good deals on holiday themed cereal to match with my end of the month expiring coupons.
